Capabilities

The CWQRC has a strong focus on the development of novel and advanced analytical chemistry technology, crucial for supporting much of the water quality research undertaken. Our group is continually expanding, and staffed by people with a wide range of analytical, research and management capabilities. The Centre has built an enviable suite of laboratory instrumentation, invested substantial effort in developing analytical methods for ultratrace concentrations of chemicals of concern (COCs), and built substantial capacity in the use of size exclusion chromatography (SEC) for NOM characterization, including development of a novel detection system for analysis of organic carbon in SEC (SEC-UV-OCD), one of only a few worldwide.
